I Started playing music in 1974. I was Born in Greenville SC but soon after moved to Atlanta Ga. Picking up the guitar and banjo at a very young age, I began playing to live audiences by the age of 13. At age 15 I got my first multi track recorder and began to write my own songs. After high school I attended West Ga. college, where I continued playing in bands and writing songs.
In 1990 and 1991, I was asked to do 2 European tours with Maureen “mo” Tucker; The original drummer of the Velvet underground. Playing hits such as ”Take A Walk On The Wild Side.” After many months in Europe I made up my mind that when I got back to the states I would leave the area I grew up in and find my way elsewhere.
In 1994 I sold ALL of my possessions except a backpack and 1 guitar, and Headed out west. After traveling around AZ, NM, NV, and CA, and getting down on my luck after many months, I stopped in Yosemite NP to see something new. With plans to stay only a day or two, I set out to do a little hiking and sight seeing. While walking around I met a man who told me he worked and lived in Yosemite. Lived in Yosemite? This had never crossed my mind. A quick visit to the personnel office and I was in.
Later that year I met the woman that would become my wife, and the mother of my son. We spent several years in the Park before deciding to move to Bishop. Upon leaving Yosemite I began to build Cottonwood studio; Where I spend most of my time now writing songs and trying to better my recording techniques.
